Memorial United Methodist Church offers several ways to express praise to the Lord through music. These include the Chancel Choir, the Adult Handbell Choir, the Contemporary Praise Band, the Children’s Choir, Handbell Choir, Camak Trio and some other seasonal small groups.

The Adult Chancel Choir is led by our music director, Ranessa Fernander, and sings each Sunday during the 11:00 a.m. worship service.  The choir also sings at additional services throughout the year, including but not limited to:  Maundy Thursday, Ash Wednesday, etc.  In addition, during Easter and Christmas the choir is open to individuals who would like to join the choir for these special occasions.  The choir rehearses in the choir room on Wednesday evenings from 7:30-8:30 p.m. during the school year and from 7-8 p.m. during the summer months.   The music director encourages anyone to join this group regardless of their ability to read music.  Furthermore, those who have had experience playing an instrument are encouraged to display that gift.

The Adult Handbell Choir plays during the worship service four times a year, plus once during the Festival of Lessons and Carols with the Adult Chancel Choir.  Under the direction of our music director, this choir’s rehearsals occur on Wednesday evenings during the school year from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the handbell room adjacent to the choir room.  New ringers are always welcomed!
The Contemporary Praise Band plays during the 9:00 a.m. Contemporary  Service.  Practice is held on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 p.m. in the Family Life Center.

The Children’s Choirs and Handbells periodically participate in both worship services.  The children who participate in Vacation Bible School also present music during the contemporary service on the Sunday following VBS.
